  • The CALS Staff Council is hosting a coffee talk to provide staff with helpful information about the CALS Staff Awards process. A panel of faculty and staff with gather in 142 Curtiss on Monday, October 24 from 2-3 p.m. to share their expertise about the CALS staff awards process.

    Panelists will share various perspectives on a variety of topics like: the benefits of awards, examples of how staff awards processes are handled in a couple of departments across CALS, the nomination process, tips on successful awards applications, how and when college applications are forwarded on to the university awards process, and much, much more. The panelists will ensure time is provided to address questions from attendees in the audience.

  • The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Professional & Scientific Council will change its name to the CALS Staff Council to embody those now included in council membership and services, CALS P&S and merit employees.

    The Council has held extensive discussions to ensure this change does not impact the Council’s ability to fulfill its obligations. “The purpose of the CALS Staff Council is to serve as a voice to the dean’s cabinet and other leaders as appropriate, as well as enhance networking, professional development, recognition opportunities, and communications for CALS staff,” said CALS Staff Council President Nate Dobbels. “We can provide these services for all staff without any conflict with union representation provided to merit employees.”

  • If you’re looking for staff members who excel at what they do, you don’t need to look further than inside the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). The college is filled with staff who consistently contribute at exceptional levels to fulfill the mission of CALS. Last year, CALS recipients received awards at the college, university, P&S, and Board of Regents levels.

  • The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Dean’s office and the CALS Professional and Scientific Council partnered to review the CALS Awards Recognition Program. As a result, expanded opportunities exist for Professional and Scientific (P&S) staff.
