On November 7th, CALS staff enjoyed delicious apple cider donuts from Center Grove Orchard and apple cider from Deals Orchard while learning about the research being done on ISU campus on apples. Sarah Armstrong did a wonderful presentation on the Iowa State University apple orchard and the research being done there to help develop new apple cultivars as well as work to keep the orchard growing and flourishing. The Horticulture Research Station currently has 15 acres of apple trees. Free apples were given for participants to take home and Adventure 2 points were given to those who participate.
